Criminal Minds

Dear Criminal Minds Producers,

Hannah Montana talks Suicide?

We found out today that Miley Cyrus is speaking out about a suicide prevention organization, called To Write Love on Her Arms. We say good for her. But does it really help when celebrities try to tell you "Don't do it"? Does it mean more to hear Pete Wentz talk about depression, or your best friend?

New Year

Why does everybody make resolutions on New Years? "I'm gonna lose 15 pounds, I'm gonna exercise, I'm gonna study harder, I'm gonna bla bla bla." And does anyone really end up keeping their resolutions anyway? In the end isn't January 1st just another day? I mean, I get the symbolism of the first day of a new year, or in this case, the first day of a new decade. But can't I decide to do things better on March 9th or November 17th just as easily? Or every day of the year. What do you think?

Video Contest Winners

All the videos we received showed us how Wyoming let's it out, but there were three that stood above the rest:

Can TV Joke About Suicide?

in

A couple months ago there was a scene on the TV show "The Office" where the boss, Michael Scott, acted like he'd hung himself in front of a bunch of little kids. Most people probably thought it was hilarious - the same clueless stuff that character is always doing. But a lot of people were offended, and even claimed this type of portrayal of suicide can lead to copycats. What do you think? Could the way suicide is treated in a movie or TV show affect people who might be thinking about taking their own life?

Sexting and Suicide

Has one of your friends ever posted pictures of you on their MySpace page that had you doing something you didn’t want the whole world to see? Maybe you looked like a dumbass or you were doing something illegal? That sucked right? But at least you could tell them to take it down or not label you in the pic.

But wait...it gets a lot worse. In september a girl in Florida "sexted" a boy she had a crush on. She sent a nude photo of herself to the kid. They call it sexting. Yeah, you heard me. S E X T I N G . So I think you can imagine the rest of the story, but I’ll tell it anyway.

How Do You Let it Out?

We asked how you Let it Out. And you answered. Some people play music, draw ninjas, or play sports. Others scream their guts out or punch a wall. While venting on the wall with your fist might not be best, everybody needs to find a way to let it out.

Now it’s your turn to tell us which Let it Out video speaks to you. Just click on the video contest link below and vote for your favorite vid. Or leave us a comment about your favorite way to let go of all the crap in your head.

Vid Contest

We've extended the deadline for video submissions for the Let it Out video contest until this Friday, Nov. 20. So keep working on your vids, and you might win a new HD camcorder or $1,000. We'll post everything we've got on Nov. 23rd! Let it Out!

Blown Away

Two mass shootings in two days. What's going on? Is there any way we can keep people from grabbing their guns and getting revenge on everyone who has done them wrong? Or do we just have to acknowlege that someone who really wants to kill people can do it, no matter how hard we try to prevent it?

Trick or Treat

It's Halloween week, and everybody's putting together their costumes. Some people dress up as something that reflects their personality. Like everyone tells me I look like Woody from Toy Story, and that I act a little like him, all clumsy and scared. So one year I dressed up like Woody. It just seemed natural. But other people want to be someone totally different, like the shy girl who dresses up like Lady Gaga. What are you going to be? Does it match who you are, or is it a way to escape and be someone else?
