MTV and its reality-television crusade recently made a “documentary” about rapper T.I.’s “Road to Redemption.” T.I. has been sentenced to 366 days behind bars for federal weapons charges. In the show, the rapper meets with troubled youth headed down the same path he was on. T.I. preaches that he has learned from his mistakes, but should troubled youth be looking up to people like T.I.?
There are all kinds of rumors that T.I. will get off easy due to his celebrity status. If he doesn’t have to serve his whole sentence, what kind of message does that send to the youth he mentored?
